About Our School

Paché Montessori is a community-oriented, value-driven Montessori school with highly trained educators located on Court Street in Cobble Hill. Our name, Paché, comes from the Italian word for peace (“pace”), and this guiding principle is at the heart of everything we do. We serve children from birth (3 months) through 6 years old (Kindergarten) and offer a Spanish Immersion option for our Toddler and Primary students.

Our beautiful 25,000 square foot school contains a large rooftop playground, an indoor gross motor space with a climbing wall, and a second-floor terrace for outdoor gardening and learning.

As followers of the Montessori method developed by the Italian educator Maria Montessori over 100 years ago, we believe in fostering independence, curiosity, autonomy, and empathy in our students through a specially prepared environment. We have a passion for the education of children and a deep respect for all humanity, starting with the child. Our goal is to help build a more just, peaceful, and equitable world through the actions of our students and the next generation of change-makers.

At Paché Montessori, we are guiding our students' process of self-construction to reach their fullest potential and become positive influencers in their local community and broader society. We strongly believe in every child's inner light and understand our role is to take a step back, observe, and offer assistance when truly needed so that children can fully develop a strong emotional and social foundation of empathy, kindness, consideration, and peace.

The Montessori approach, which is backed by scientific research on how children learn best during their first six years of life, helps children to construct their inner character, develop interests, and make independent choices while learning with grace and courtesy. We believe that this approach helps children to become confident, capable, and compassionate members of society.

The work we do every day at Paché Montessori is driven by our collective passion to create a better world. As Dr. Montessori said, "For children are the makers of men", and it is through our daily work that we know our children are the path to a more peaceful and just society.
