Community Commitments

As a value and mission driven community, each individual understands their responsibility to the collective to uphold our shared values as we guide the next generation of change-makers. We are all committed to acting with kindness and carrying ourselves with the same grace and courtesy we are hoping to inspire in our children. As we review and consider our shared core values as a school community, our community commitments are some practical applications of our core values. Each family, educator, student, friend and administrator at Paché is a role model, acting with purpose and dedication, understanding our great responsibility to one another.

WE CULTIVATE A FRIENDLY FEELING TOWARD LEARNING.

We know that we will make mistakes, and those mistakes will lead us to deeper levels of learning. We recognize that we are all learning, evolving and growing and understand that our process is never complete. In order to understand our truest selves, we must exercise vulnerably and humbly acknowledge our identity as a work in progress.

WE CREATE SPACE.

There will be moments where we will feel like we want to dictate or control another's actions, thoughts and speech. We understand the only thing we can control is our own thoughts, so we create a safe space for ourselves and each other to bravely and continually grow, learn and evolve through active, nonjudgmental listening.

WE ARE PRESENT.

We practice mindfulness to be present in the moment. This means we do not expect ourselves to have an immediate answer to questions. We pause and reflect, choosing kindness and respect when responding. We engage meaningfully with the experiences of our community, seeking to understand rather than to be understood, listening to connect rather than to respond. We generously give our full attention to our community, separated from technology and the rush of the outside world.

WE TRUST THE PROCESS.

We will commit ourselves fully to diving deep into areas of strength and growth by adhering to our Montessori values and belief in the child, while constantly pursuing our own spiritual work and preparation. We understand that we rely on one another, trusting each individual as an important contributor to our community and growth.

WE COMMIT TO COMMUNITY.

We are not in competition with one another. We know that transformation will only occur when we work together, trust and rely upon one another. Collectively we are stronger than each individual. We eagerly aid each other, through support, communication and connection.

WE CHALLENGE OUR BIASES AND PURSUE ANTI-RACISM.

We challenge the conditioned biases and prejudices that exist in each and every one of us in our society. We do not subscribe to the idea that things are either good or bad, right or wrong. We prioritize anti-bias, antiracist work through introspection first in order to disrupt the dominant white supremacist culture within our society and selves, dismantle outdated patriarchal systems, and take care of our environment. We acknowledge that we are striving for a society that does not currently exist and understand that we are guiding the next generation of peacemakers.

WE SHOW UP.

We choose to compassionately support and advocate for underserved, undervalued, oppressed and marginalized individuals. We believe in respect, dignity, rights, and equity for all humanity, creating a truly inclusive school community that perpetuates our shared values. We choose action and advocacy over inaction and silence.

WE PRACTICE PEACE.

We recognize that our process of self-construction to humbly and authentically serve our students will sometimes be accompanied by conflict. As conflict arises within ourselves or in partnership, we welcome the opportunity to practice peaceful disruption and construction. We believe in the goodness and kindness of others, allowing compassionate dialogue to unfold. We understand we cannot unite through opposition.

WE ARE RESPECTFUL ROLE MODELS OF GRACE & COURTESY.

We role model for our students, children and peers at all times.

We care for our school, cleaning up after ourselves.
